Greed in the NEW democratic party

CNN reporter on site in DC just said that in his entire time covering politics he has never seen such anger. He added that Obama supporters were shocked at the anger that they saw. He was referring to the protests by Hillary supporters at the DRC meeting.

This is the biggest sign of what is to come this November if Obama is the nominee. We will see a disunited democratic party that is destined to lose. Hillary democrats are very angry and no amount of plea from Hillary will change their mind to vote for Obama. That is certainly the case for me. Many others will even go the extra mile and vote for McCain.

This could have been avoided easily but typical Obama wanted it all.

All throughout this week Obama has claimed that the nomination is his. If that is the case, why not allow full seating of the MI & FL delegation? More importantly, why resort to such sleazy tactics as stealing 4 delegates from Hillary in Michigan? If he was really secure in his belief that he is the nominee, why resort to these things? If he really has enough SD's the delegates from MI & FL would not have mattered.

He should have been magnanimous enough allowing full seating of both MI & FL delegations. Then, had that happened, Obama could have  come out of it looking like a leader and problem solver. Unfortunately he did not follow this path. He went for the greedy path.

Healthcare costs are draining millions of people (none / 0)

of their equity and future. I have to take six prescriptions and I have to pay a huge amount in copays. One thing that bothers me is that all but two are generic drugs but they are still expensive. But I have insurance. I am constantly seeing old people standing shocked in the pharmacy when they are told that for some reason or another, Medicare or their insurance or whatever won't pay for some drug they need. Its changing all the time. They don't know what to do, they just sit down and cry. I am not kidding. These drug companies are bleeding us all dry.

I implore all sane posters to stay out of this.

TxDem08, I'm sorry you feel that the compromise that the Michigan state party proposed was unfair to Michigan.

Have good evening.

CNN reporter on site in DC just said that in his entire time covering politics he has never seen such anger. He added that Obama supporters were shocked at the anger that they saw. He was referring to the protests by Hillary supporters at the DRC meeting.

I think booing and hissing at the concept of party unity is a fairly unique development in the history of anger.

If we are destined to be disunited, we will be disunited with Hillary or Obama.

We appreciate your concern, but we just have to work to fix it if it is indeed broke.

This could have been avoided easily

Sure, it could have been avoided if those angry protesters had started protesting before the vote occurred.  It makes it more legitimate to argue in favor of counting votes if you don't have a vested interest.

Or maybe Harold Ickes and company should have not voted to strip the delegates to start with.

All throughout this week Obama has claimed that the nomination is his.

Greedy is supporting a vote count that suggests no one in Michigan supports Obama.

Re: Greed in the NEW democratic party (none / 0)

The people you are trying to convince will not be convinced.

The people who are rational and sane will read that crap whether or not we respond to it.  Engaging this crap will only make it worse.

I'm quite tempted to agree with you, but I just can't.  Just let the tempest in a teapot blow itself out.  Some people will never forgive nor forget, and nothing you say or do here will get them to listen fairly to what you say.

Write a good diary, open some eyes that way.  But here?  You just won't get anywhere.

Re: Greed in the NEW democratic party (none / 0)

Obama supporters don't get it. Dismissing Clinton supporters and the anger they feel about this unfair process is not the way to unify the democratic party. Please keep doing what you are doing you are definitely helping Obama lose in November.

Re: Greed in the NEW democratic party (2.00 / 1)

I'm not dismissing it, I take full note of it.  We had a nice long hearing today to discuss it.  Bottom line, the votes count for more today than they did yesterday and Clinton has more delegates because Obama was willing to compromise.  Here we are.  It's not perfect but it's the best you will get.

I find it curious (none / 0)

It's facinating that you believe that Obama is the one that drove this wedge.

I'm not going to argue with you, but I suggest that you step back and look at this from a cool and collected position.

There were 13 Clinton supporters on the Rules and Bylaws committee.  Some of them voted for the measure that was eventually adopted.

Fake outrage (none / 0)

1986dude, where was your outrage when Harold Ickes and the other Clinton allies on the committee voted to strip Michigan and Florida of all their delegates?

Seriously -- where was it? Show me links.

Got none?

Then you have no standing to complain about this result. None. Because your candidate did more than anyone else to contribute to this mess.

Re: Greed in the NEW democratic party (none / 0)

Well for me it was a huge minus for Obama. He show that 1. He is not a brave man the nomination would have been his either way 2. He doesn't have the leadership abilities that is needed. 3. He confirmed that he would not stand with principles and would game when it is in his favor.

It is ironic that Republican nominated a man that had fighted for 7 years to cut the wall street money out of washington and then the democrat are nominating this guy.
